How we collect, use and protect your personal information.
Privacy policy
Who we are
A Star Waste Management ("we", "us") is based at 2B Stoke Abbott Road, Worthing, BN11 1HJ. You can contact us about privacy at office@astarwastemanagement.co.uk or on 01903 962 492.
What we collect
When you contact us, we collect the information you choose to give us: usually your name, phone number, email address, postcode or address, and photos or descriptions of the waste to be collected. If you book a job, we also keep details of the job, payment and any waste transfer paperwork.
How we use it
We use your information to reply to enquiries, prepare quotes, arrange and carry out collections, take payment, keep the records we are required to keep as a waste carrier, and deal with any questions or complaints. We do not sell your data or use it for unrelated marketing.
Lawful basis
We process your information because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract and to perform that contract, to comply with our legal obligations (for example, waste duty of care records), and for our legitimate interests in running and improving our business.
Messaging and third parties
If you contact us through WhatsApp, Facebook or email, those services process your messages under their own privacy policies. Our website may load a chat widget provided by Leadfire on our live domain to help you contact us, and links to Google, Facebook and Checkatrade. We only share your information with others where needed to carry out your job, such as licensed waste facilities receiving waste transfer documentation, or where required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to deal with it, and job and waste records for as long as the law requires (waste transfer notes must be kept for at least two years) and our accounting obligations require.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising cookies. Third-party services such as the chat widget or embedded links may set their own cookies when used.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Contact us first and we will do our best to help.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
