Carpet uplift & removal
Carpet uplift & removal in Worthing and across Sussex
Old carpet, underlay and gripper rods lifted and taken away, so your fitters can start straight away.
Lifting old carpet is a dusty, heavy job, and the waste is bulky. We lift carpets, underlay and gripper rods, remove staples, roll and cut everything for loading, and take it away, leaving the floor ready for your new flooring.
We do domestic carpet uplift for homes and flats, and commercial carpet tile removal for offices and shops.
Super helpful! I sent a message on WhatsApp on the weekend and got a reply the same day with a price. They came and collected 2 days later and all was left clean and tidy. Really efficient. Would highly recommend.

Advice
Stairs, landings and awkward rooms
Stair carpet is the hardest part of a carpet uplift, with rods, grippers and staples on every step. We lift it carefully, pull all the fixings and leave the treads clean so the new carpet or flooring can be fitted properly.
Heavy furniture such as wardrobes and beds can be moved within the room where agreed, but please empty drawers and cupboards first so that items can be moved safely.

Good to know
Commercial carpet tiles
Office and shop carpet tiles are lifted and stacked for removal. Some carpet tiles can be recycled, so keep them clean and dry if you can.
A waste transfer note is provided for commercial jobs.
What a soft strip includes
A typical soft strip includes shelving, racking, counters and display fittings; stud partitions and suspended ceiling tiles; carpet, carpet tiles, vinyl and underlay; kitchens, toilets and basins; signage; and general waste and old stock. Structural elements, services and anything involving asbestos are outside the scope of a soft strip and need the appropriate specialists.
Before we start, we agree exactly what is being removed and what is staying, and we make sure utilities have been isolated where necessary.

What affects the price
We quote every job individually, usually from photos. The main factors are:
Square footage and number of rooms.
How much is being removed.
Plasterboard and mixed waste have different disposal costs.
Out-of-hours work and restricted access take longer.
Larger strip-outs may run over several days.
How to prepare
- Confirm what the lease or landlord requires on handover.
- Arrange isolation of electrics, water and gas where needed.
- Check whether an asbestos survey exists for the building.
- Tell us about access, working hours, loading bays and parking.
- Remove confidential documents and data-bearing IT equipment.
- Label anything that is staying or being reused.
Responsible disposal
Where your waste goes
Strip-out waste is separated into metal, timber, plasterboard, cardboard, carpet and general waste, then taken to licensed facilities for recycling or disposal. A waste transfer note is provided for every commercial job.
Whoever takes your waste, check they are a registered waste carrier. Householders have a legal duty of care, and if waste you paid someone to remove is fly-tipped it can be traced back to you. We are licensed and insured, take every load to authorised facilities, and are always happy to show our credentials.

Swift and efficient waste removal. Quick response from the team. Quoted the job from the photos I sent. They kept in communication with us, so we weren't hanging around. The guys worked quickly to clear the area, they were very professional. I highly recommend their service.
We have used this company a number of times. Very professional, I would highly recommend them. They are happy to go that extra mile with no hesitation.
Bit of a mix up with timings but once arrived the boys were quick, efficient and very thorough in their work. There was an awful lot of stuff in our garage that was not being used and we needed it clearing for selling our house.
We used this company for the first time today, very responsive to messages and hard working guys. Cleared all rubbish we requested to be removed and we highly recommend them to anyone wanting a fast service, very reasonable price which saved us paying more for a skip! Will definitely be using them again.
Such an amazing company! Communication was brilliant, the clean up was outstanding. Took everything little bit, was very pleased with the results. Also managed to fit me in very quickly which was a bonus! Will be using them again for sure! Thanks again guys.
Fantastic service I highly recommend them, took a shed down yesterday rang them last night they were here first thing this morning to take it away along with other garden waste. Highly competitive rates but they don't cut corners. They swept and tidied up after themselves as well, I'll definitely use A Star in all my future jobs. Thank you.
