It is a small place with a big village green at its heart, and it has a slightly different feel to its neighbours: older cottages around the Green, solid 1930s semis on the roads climbing towards Southwick Hill, and working harbour businesses along the coast road.

01Southwick's older properties are grouped around the Green and the streets leading off it, with cottages and period houses that have narrow hallways and tight staircases. Fishersgate and the streets near the harbour have terraces and more recent housing.

Jordan organized his crew to come and clear a mountain of rubbish from my back garden. A well overdue clearance all soggy and disintegrated and included a dead rat within..yuk. The lads did an amazing job. They were polite and courteous and worked flat out in the pouring rain. I can highly recommend them and will be using them again. I probably won't leave it so long next time though!
