Lancing sits right next door to our Worthing base, so for us it is effectively a local job. We are in and out of BN15 most weeks, clearing bungalows in South Lancing, gardens backing onto the Downs in North Lancing, and business units on the industrial estates between the railway and the coast road.
The town has a character of its own. It is quieter than Worthing or Shoreham, with a large number of bungalows and chalet-style homes, plenty of retired households and a strong village feel around North Lancing and the old church. That shapes the work we do here: a lot of downsizing, garage and loft clearances, and gardens that have simply become too much to manage.

01Much of South Lancing was built between the wars and in the decades after, so the typical Lancing property is a bungalow, a chalet bungalow or a semi with a drive. That is good news for a clearance: the van can usually park on the drive or right outside, and there are few stairs to deal with. Chalet bungalows do have steep, narrow staircases to the first-floor rooms and small eaves storage, which we allow for when we price.
02North Lancing's houses often back straight onto the Downs, and the gardens across the town tend to be long and well established. We clear overgrown borders, old leylandii cuttings, rotten fence panels and sheds that have seen too many winters of sea wind. Garden waste goes to licensed composting, not landfill.
03Lancing has fewer large blocks than Worthing or Brighton, but there are low-rise flats around the station and the shopping parade on North Road, and retirement developments across the town. Most are two or three storeys without lifts, so carrying furniture down the stairs safely is part of the job.
04Access in Lancing is generally straightforward. Most roads have on-street parking without permit schemes and many properties have drives. The narrower lanes of the old village in North Lancing and the roads near the beach can be tight on busy summer days, so we plan the time of our visit around that.
05Letting agents in Lancing and Sompting use us to clear properties between tenancies, particularly bungalows and flats near the station. Getting a property empty and swept before the check-out inspection helps avoid disputes over deposit deductions.
06Lancing Business Park and the other industrial units in the town are home to trade suppliers, workshops and small manufacturers. We clear pallets, packaging, old racking, scrap metal and general commercial waste, and provide waste transfer notes for business customers.

Jordan organized his crew to come and clear a mountain of rubbish from my back garden. A well overdue clearance all soggy and disintegrated and included a dead rat within..yuk. The lads did an amazing job. They were polite and courteous and worked flat out in the pouring rain. I can highly recommend them and will be using them again. I probably won't leave it so long next time though!

Bit of a mix up with timings but once arrived the boys were quick, efficient and very thorough in their work. There was an awful lot of stuff in our garage that was not being used and we needed it clearing for selling our house.
