Commercial demolition

Commercial demolition in Worthing and across Sussex

Non-structural dismantling of partitions, fit-outs, outbuildings and yard structures in commercial premises.

Commercial projects often need non-structural elements taken down before work can start: office partitions, suspended ceilings, old fit-outs, mezzanine shelving, yard stores and outbuildings. We dismantle them and clear the waste.

Structural demolition needs specialist contractors and approvals. We focus on the non-structural work and the waste removal, and can work alongside your main contractor.

Jordan organized his crew to come and clear a mountain of rubbish from my back garden. A well overdue clearance all soggy and disintegrated and included a dead rat within..yuk. The lads did an amazing job. They were polite and courteous and worked flat out in the pouring rain. I can highly recommend them and will be using them again. I probably won't leave it so long next time though!

Advice

Yards and outbuildings

Commercial sites often have redundant yard stores, timber lean-tos, old cabins, fencing and canopies that need removing before redevelopment or a new tenancy. We dismantle non-structural outbuildings and fencing, remove the waste and leave the ground clear.

Anything structural, very large or involving hazardous materials is referred to the appropriate specialist, and we can work alongside them on the waste removal.

Before any dismantling starts, we walk the site with you to agree exactly what is coming down, check that services to outbuildings have been isolated, and confirm whether an asbestos survey is needed. On the day, we keep the work area fenced off from staff and visitors where necessary and remove waste as we go, so the yard stays safe and usable.

Good to know

Documented disposal

All waste is segregated where possible and taken to licensed facilities, with a waste transfer note for every load.

Metal, timber and inert waste are recycled where possible.

Walls, fencing, decking and patios

We take down low garden walls, fencing, pergolas, decking and raised beds, and break up patios and paths. All of the rubble, timber and soil is removed. If the wall is a boundary or retaining wall, check with your neighbour and a structural professional first, as these can have legal and safety implications.

Clean rubble is taken for recycling into aggregate, and timber is recycled where possible.

How it works

Four simple steps from first message to a clear space.

1

Send us photos

WhatsApp a few pictures of the waste and the route to the road, or call 01903 962 492. Tell us your postcode and when suits you.

2

Get a clear price

We reply with a fixed quote based on what we can see. No hidden extras, no pressure, and no obligation to book.

3

We load and sweep

Our team arrives on the agreed day, carries everything out, loads the van and sweeps up behind us.

4

Responsible disposal

Waste goes to licensed facilities to be sorted and recycled where possible. Businesses get a waste transfer note.

What affects the price

We quote every job individually, usually from photos. The main factors are:

Size of the structure

A small shed versus a large summerhouse.

Materials

Timber, glass, brick and concrete have different disposal costs.

Bases and foundations

Breaking up concrete adds time and weight.

Access

Rear gardens with no side access take longer.

Contents

Clearing contents first adds volume.

How to prepare

  • Empty sheds and outbuildings, or ask us to clear the contents too.
  • Tell us about any cement roof sheets or materials you are unsure of.
  • Disconnect any electricity supply to outbuildings using a qualified electrician.
  • Check boundary features with your neighbour first.
  • Tell us if you want concrete bases removed as well.
  • Mark any plants or features that must be protected.

Responsible disposal

Where your waste goes

Timber is separated for recycling, metal frames are recycled, glass is handled safely, and rubble is taken for crushing into aggregate. Everything goes to licensed facilities.

Whoever takes your waste, check they are a registered waste carrier. Householders have a legal duty of care, and if waste you paid someone to remove is fly-tipped it can be traced back to you. We are licensed and insured, take every load to authorised facilities, and are always happy to show our credentials.

Fantastic service I highly recommend them, took a shed down yesterday rang them last night they were here first thing this morning to take it away along with other garden waste. Highly competitive rates but they don't cut corners. They swept and tidied up after themselves as well, I'll definitely use A Star in all my future jobs. Thank you.

Quoted a good price for some hardcore removal after breaking up a pathway. A Star came and removed the waste the next day. The lads were polite and got the job done quickly. Highly recommend.

Really good service. Competitive price and left the site clear. I liked the good communication e.g. pictures of the finished job as I couldn't be at home as I was working. Great job and I would use them again.
