Mattresses are one of the most fly-tipped items in the country because they are bulky and awkward to dispose of. We collect them from your bedroom, carry them out and take them to facilities where springs, foam and fabric can be separated for recycling where available.
We collect single, double, king and super-king mattresses, pocket-sprung, memory foam and hybrid, along with toppers, cot mattresses and divan bases.

Mattress recycling
A mattress contains steel springs, foam, fibres and fabric. Specialist recyclers separate these so the steel can be recycled and the other materials recovered. It keeps bulky mattresses out of landfill.
Mattresses that are wet, soiled or infested are still collected but may need different disposal. Please let us know.

Advice
Why mattresses are hard to dispose of
Mattresses are bulky, springy and made from several materials bonded together, which makes them expensive to process. Many household waste sites limit how many you can bring, and they will not fit in most cars. That is why so many end up dumped in alleyways and lay-bys.
Using a licensed carrier protects you from fly-tipping liability and gives the mattress the best chance of being recycled rather than landfilled.

Multiple mattresses
Landlords, holiday let owners, hotels and care homes often need several mattresses removed at once. We can collect them in a single visit.
If you are buying a new mattress and the retailer does not offer take-back, we can collect the old one.
Dismantling and access
Furniture that came in flat-packed often will not come out in one piece, and some sofas were delivered before a staircase was changed. We dismantle wardrobes, beds, bunk beds, desks and shelving as needed, and we carry sofas down stairs and through tight doorways without damaging walls or banisters.
Please let us know about stairs, narrow landings and lifts when you send photos, so we bring the right tools and enough people.

What affects the price
We quote every job individually, usually from photos. The main factors are:
A single armchair costs less than a three-piece suite.
Sofas and armchairs have higher disposal costs.
Priced individually for recycling.
Time taken to break down items.
Stairs and tight corners.
How to prepare
- Tell us how many items there are and which rooms they are in.
- Mention stairs, narrow doorways or lifts.
- Empty drawers, wardrobes and cabinets.
- Let us know if any items need dismantling.
- Tell us which items are upholstered seating, as they are handled separately.
- If items are good enough to reuse, mention it and we will set them aside where possible.
Responsible disposal
Where your waste goes
Upholstered seating is kept separate and sent for incineration under the POPs rules. Mattresses go to specialist recycling where available, timber and metal furniture is recycled, and reusable items are set aside wherever possible.
Whoever takes your waste, check they are a registered waste carrier. Householders have a legal duty of care, and if waste you paid someone to remove is fly-tipped it can be traced back to you. We are licensed and insured, take every load to authorised facilities, and are always happy to show our credentials.
